How We Work

Being targeted by a scam is stressful, and it is hard to know who to trust — especially when so many “recovery” offers are scams themselves. Here is exactly what happens when you contact LegitAssure, what we do, and just as importantly, what we don’t do.

The initial assessment is free and confidential.

There is no cost and no obligation to speak with us. We will never ask you to pay a “recovery fee” — and if anyone else does, treat it as a warning sign.

What happens when you reach out

  1. You tell us what happened

Describe your situation in your own words using our short form. No technical details or evidence needed to start.

  2. Our team contacts you

A member of our own team — not an automated system, not a third party — gets in touch to understand what happened.

  3. We assess your situation

We review the facts: how the scam worked, where funds moved, which agencies are relevant, and what realistic steps exist.

  4. We explain your options

We tell you plainly what we found — including reporting, contacting your bank or exchange, and protecting yourself.

  5. We connect you — only if it makes sense

Where it genuinely helps, we introduce a vetted, licensed professional. If a route isn’t worth pursuing, we tell you honestly.

What we do — and what we never do

What we do

  • Offer a free, confidential initial assessment
  • Explain your situation and options in plain language
  • Point you to official reporting channels in the US and Canada
  • Introduce vetted, licensed professionals only when it genuinely makes sense
  • Publish free guides so you can protect yourself

What we never do

  • Guarantee that lost money will be recovered
  • Ask for upfront “recovery fees”, taxes or crypto payments
  • Pressure you to decide quickly
  • Pass your details to a third party without your agreement
  • Contact you out of the blue offering to “get your money back”

Who we help

We work with people in the United States and Canada who are dealing with — or worried about — situations like these.

Crypto & trading platforms

Fake exchanges, investment apps and “guaranteed return” schemes.

Romance & relationship scams

Including “pig-butchering” schemes that build trust before asking you to invest.

Impersonation

Callers or messages pretending to be your bank, a government agency or tech support.

Phishing & hacked accounts

Stolen logins, compromised wallets and “wallet drainer” links.

Job & task scams

“Easy online work” that ends with you paying to unlock earnings.

Checking before you invest

Not sure a platform or offer is legitimate? Ask before you send money.

Frequently asked questions

Is the initial assessment really free?

Yes. Contacting us and having our team review your situation costs nothing and places you under no obligation.

Can you guarantee I will get my money back?

No — and no one honestly can. Our role is to help you understand your situation and your realistic options. Be very cautious of anyone who promises recovery.

Who will contact me after I submit the form?

A member of LegitAssure’s own team. We only introduce you to an outside professional if your situation calls for it, and only with your agreement.

Do I need evidence before I contact you?

No. A plain description is enough to start. If anything else would help, we will tell you what to gather.

Which countries do you cover?

We currently focus on people in the United States and Canada.

Should I still report the scam to the authorities?

Yes. In the US you can report to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and the Federal Trade Commission; in Canada, to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Reporting helps investigators and may support any later steps. We can help you understand where to report.
